Kicking Gas (“we,” “our,” “us”) is a purpose-driven non-profit/organization based in Washington state, committed to advancing environmental sustainability, equity, and social justice. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you visit our website, subscribe to our communications, register for events, or make donations.

2. Scope & Applicability  

This policy applies to all visitors and users (“you”) of our services, including residents of Washington, California, Oregon, Idaho, and other jurisdictions.

- Information You Provide: name, email, mailing address, payment info (for donations; payment processed by iATS Payments).  

- Automatically Collected Data: IP address, device/browser data, analytics cookies, page visits.  

- Optional / Derived Data: responses to surveys, preferences, interest areas.

4. Sensitive Information  

We sometimes collect information that may be considered sensitive, such as socio-economic positioning, home descriptions, racial or ethnic identity, gender identity, health or accessibility needs, or political/advocacy affiliations, etc.  

We collect this only with your consent, when it is directly relevant to our purpose, and to ensure inclusive, equitable, and accessible programs.  

Note: We are currently developing a more detailed sensitive information policy, which will be incorporated into this Privacy Policy upon completion.

5. Our Purpose in Collecting Your Data  

We use personal data to:  

- Communicate about our purpose-aligned programs, events, newsletters.  

- Process donations or registrations.  

- Understand how to better serve communities and reduce our environmental footprint.  

- Foster equitable outreach strategies and inclusive engagement.

- Subscriber data while you remain subscribed.  

- Donor data for as long as is required by tax law.

- Request limits on the processing of your data.

Our services are not directed at children under 13; we do not knowingly collect data from them.
